What I got for my Birthday!

Sunday, 25 January 2015
Hey guys, I know it's been a little while but I've been busy lately - working, organising my birthday and making plans for a couple of trips later in the holidays.

I thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I got for my birthday!

Kryolan Brush Belt

I've wanted these for such a long time - such a handy accessory to keep all my brushes in easy reach whilst I'm doing makeup on clients, and automatically makes anyone who wears it look like a pro.

Sephora Eye Masks

My best friend Joan brought these back from China for me - there's a whole rainbow assortment of different flavours/fragrances, all of which are targeted at different things. I think these will be good on tired days when my eyes just feel like they need a bit of depuffing and refreshing.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB cream

My friend brought this back from Korea along with a few other Etude House products. Since trying this I can definitely confirm that Asian BB creams are soooo much better than Western BB creams. This one actually provides a decent coverage, whilst still maintaining a lightweight, dewy finish.

Stila Eyes Are the Window Palette - "Spirit"

This was a gift from my boyfriend - he wasn't sure whether I wanted the Soul or Spirit palette, but the girls at Mecca suggested this one. At first I felt like I would have preferred the Soul palette seeing as I would use more of the colours every day, however I realised I already have most of the colours from the Soul palette in other palettes, whereas the Spirit has some gorgeous shades that I don't already have. My favourite shades from this palette are "Kitten", "Pigalle", "Oasis" and "Jezebel". Take a look at some swatches here.

Lorac Pro Palette

We've all heard way too much about this palette already. I tried my friend's one and decided that I need it in my kit. The quality and pigmentation of the eyeshadows is amazing, and the shades are perfect for absolutely any look.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer - "Medium/Deep"

This was a gift from my friend Jadelyn, along with the MAC lipstick. I chose the shade "Medium/Deep" over the lighter one because it is less orangey, meaning it's better for contouring - and also great for my more tanned clients. This bronzer is matte, and it's crazy pigmented so it's best to use a light hand.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine - "Boy"

This was another gift from Joan (along with the Chanel lip gloss). I haven't actually worn it yet, but from swatching it I can tell that the formula is very sheer and glossy, and the colour is nice and natural. I have a feeling this is going to become my go to lip product.

MAC Lipstick - "Media"

This was another gift from Jadelyn - a lipstick that's been on my wish list for quite a long time. Originally I couldn't decide between Media and Rebel, however I ended up deciding on Media because it's a little bit more red and vampy which is what I was after.

MAC 224 brush

As much as I love the 217 brush, sometimes I find it's just not quite fluffy enough to blend out large areas, so I added this to my wish list. The only brush I feel that I need now is the 219, then my collection will be complete.

Etude House Bling Bling Eye Sticks

Joan also brought these back from Korea for me - I'm not sure what the shade names are, but one is a light champagney gold and the other is a warmer gold. I haven't quite figured out how to use these yet, but they're lovely and smooth and shimmery, so I think they'll be good as an inner eye highlight.

Chanel Glossimer - "182 - Tocade"

Also from Joan, this lipgloss is a lovely formula. It comes out more of a fuchsia pink than it looks in the tube. I think this would be lovely over some dark plum/berry lipsticks, or even over pink.

Hourglass Veil Primer

I've heard so many amazing things about this primer so I added it to my wish list. So far I've only used it once and didn't notice any amazing difference to my makeup, however I'll keep trying it and hopefully I end up liking it.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, I have another haul coming up because I've been on a bit of a makeup buying spree lately. Thank you so much to everyone who made my birthday so wonderful, I love you all so much.

Until next time, xoxoxo

  1. I also think that the Soul palette's shade looks like the UD Naked palette. Spirit looks good, might look into that one now! Happy belated birthday Cara!!!
